I am running media center on windows 8.1 and have and xbox in another room as my extender. It has worked perfectly for years.
Now it has started to just quit playing. No error messages and when I go to the menu and then rerun media center about 50% of the time that doesn't work.
So now its almost always turn the unit off and back on and its up playing again.
The problem has gotten so bad that its anywhere from 1 hr to 4 hrs and disconnect or something I don't know I don't get any idea what happened or even where to look to find some type of error report.
I hope that someone has seen or heard of this and knows what I need to do to stop this.
ps I tried giving it a static ip and they changed nothing.
This box and a roku are plugged into a netgear switch in the den and this is hard wired into the router in the back room.
thanks for any and all help

Have you changed any network related hardware router switch etc?
Have you run the network tuning option within the xbox wmc?
