I have recently been trying to make my WMC "headless". I use CetonProxy with Emby and generally have a great experience. The Emby app is available on a wide range of platforms and makes my Live TV and and Recordings available everywhere, from a tablet to a phone. The only catch of course is no DRM content is accessible on EMBY. I can live with no live DRM content as I usually don't watch the stuff I record live, but it would be nice if somehow I could remove the DRM from the recordings. I know there are no ways of programmatically stripping it. But.... What if I were to play the DRM content through an HDMI splitter that strips HDCP and then fed it into a capture card and recorded it with OBS? I feel like this should be doable with some scripting and monitoring of the WMC directory if you could somehow tell WMC to play a video.
Has anyone tried something like this? Thoughts?
