Can't download playready 1.3.10 for Win8
Can anyone send me or PM a link for PlayReady v1.3.10 (filename playready-v1.3.2313.10-amd64.msi) for Windows 8? I did a fresh install of Windows 8 and WMC and now my live TV setup gets stuck trying to install PlayReady. That's the short story. Continue reading below for the long version if you want...
I upgraded my HTPC with some better parts that I had laying around. Did a fresh install of Windows 8 and installed Media Center.
My first problem was that Ceton's website is no more and I didn't have a copy of the Ceton setup software. I managed to find a copy from driverguide.com, virus scanned it and took a chance that it was legit. That part seems to have been okay.
Next problem was that the digital cable advisor wouldn't launch. I did a little searching and found the below link to download it from Microsoft
http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/wiki/index ... #Windows_7
After I ran the digital cable advisor, I proceeded to setup my ceton tuners. WMC hung on trying to download PlayReady. I found a download link for PlayReady for Windows 8 at the below link but both of the download links are broken.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... -windows-8
I did find PlayReady v1.3 for Win7 on Microsoft downloads. That let me complete my live TV setup, but WMC is saying I need to update my version of PlayReady before it will let me watch any live tv.
If anyone has a copy or a link, please PM me. I've spent all of this past weekend trying to get my HTPC working properly again. I've even tried contacting Microsoft support, but they're useless.

You might ask DavidinCT if he has a copy. If your really determined you can also see if you could extract the assemblies from the win 7 version, and install them manually using Gacutil. I'm not sure if Win 8 PlayReady was updated for .NET 4 or not but I'm almost sure the win 7 version uses .NET 3.5.

WIll this help ?
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... px?id=5445
I was able to down load 1.3 from Microsoft. I have had play ready issues from even when WIndows 7 WMC was active.
I found a few versions but, They don't show EXACTLY what version they are (all named PlayReadyPC_x64.msi or PlayReadyPC_x86.msi... looking in the file Details, I only see revision number and one is {FC2D40E9-8C19-44CD-9AA9-B5A41E68204A}, I do have a X86 version that I could find quickly but, it's back in the Vista days, as it was with the TV pack (when Vista enabled cablecards). A few others but, no way tot know for sure...
If we have a hash and an exact size, maybe I can narrow it down a little but, with out that, I cant be sure...
Yea, I have some WMC stuff that goes pretty far back.

I'm having the same issue - continuously failing to install via media center. Do i just install this 1.31 version and then run thru playready again in MCE or just install playready 1.31 and do nothing else? This is a new install of Windows 7.
Interestingly enough, I did a new install of Windows 7 about a week before support was cut off and had no issues installing playready on that machine.

Sorry, I had fixed this before but it looks like I overwrote the fix at some point. The links are case sensitive. I updated the page so you can try again.

My W8 media center blew up and I am now using the windows home server to image restore to new hardware. I am now having a display playback error. Live TV plays CNN for a few seconds then the DRM warnings stops the display.
Will the above fix my issues?

I have been working several days to reinstall Windows 8.1 Pro with Windows 8.1 Pro Pack (Windows Media Center) to resolve an issue resolved by thread https://www.thegreenbutton.tv/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13856
I should have checked The Green Button EPG123 support online first for an issue report/solution (lesson learned), and I ended up doing a full reinstall of OS and WMC only to have the same issue caused by March 8, 2022 monthly update (Win 8.1 - KB5011564). It seems I now have everything working, but I would like to install PlayReadyPC_x64.msi version 1.3.10 (not 1.3.0).
Based on Microsoft support, PlayReadyPC_x64.msi version 1.3.10 works with Windows 8.1, per https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/top ... 37287a0c71
However, the Microsoft PlayReadyPC_x64.msi version 1.3.10 download link https://download.microsoft.com/download ... PC_x64.msi no longer works and results in...

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
I have screen image from Programs and Features from my prior installation before wiping it out, and it showed PlayReadyPC_x64.msi version 1.3.10 installed in January 2020.
Is there a download source to download PlayReadyPC_x64.msi version 1.3.10 ?
Please advise. Thank you.

The wayback machine (archive.org) seems to have saved a copy of this URL. I'm not sure if it is the version you are looking for, but if it is a newer version, maybe Gary would want to also archive it...
https://web.archive.org/web/20200803211 ... PC_x64.msi
EDIT: I assumed you looked at the rest of this thread before posting, but if not, did you check if the version of Playready available from Gary is not the one you want: https://garyan2.github.io/drm.html
I'm not sure if this version works on Win7, but the Microsoft page you linked to seems to indicate that it does not, so I would assume Gary would have both versions 1.3 (for those that have Win7) and 1.3.10 (for those who have Win8), but it looks like he only has separate versions for 32-bit and 64-bit systems.

Thanks for your reply. The link you provided appears to be the 1.3.0 version, same as what I had already. WMC does work for me with version 1.3.0, but since Win 8.1 supports 1.3.10, I am seeking that version before support ends in 2023. Thanks again, hopefully a link for version 1.3.10 can be provided.

Thanks for all feedback and support. My Win 8.1 Pro WMC HTPC is back to running well again with a Schedules Direct subscription feeding EPG123 for guide data. In future, should issues occur, I will check The Green Button forums for possible issue reports and resolution. Thank you!
