Hey TGB fans! Glad I found this forum and have been reading all day. Use the WMC mostly to record sporting events and watch them in half the normal time. I have a HD Homerun with a dual tuner and it has been working well for a few years.

You just found it now? We've been here since 2011 ;)

New member trying to set up WMC on a brand new W10 box.
Been using it for quite a while with W7 and have a good collection of .wtv - don't want to lose it....

Leave the Windows 7 system alone. If the files are copy-protected, you will lose them ;)

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a WMC/Windows 7 expert that I can pay for support. Is it okay to create a topic for that in the Windows 7 Media Center forum so it gets the most views?

I was thinking too, you guys should start an official "The GreenButton" facebook group. The only decent group I've found on there is "Windows 7 Ultimate".

Also, in the "WMC Add-ins and 3rd Party Apps" forum, there should be dedicated subforums for each of the Add-ins/3rd Party Apps. That would be a good way for getting support for all the Add-ins/3rd Party Apps.

Cheers for this awesome WMC resource!

Hello, TGB. I've been a lurker for a few years, but never posted. Great website!
I came across something I had to share yesterday. I remember reading how Microsoft decided to discontinue WMC because no one used it. I've been keeping W7 machines around just for WMC. I just saw an opportunity to prove them wrong with a survey by a IT/tech industry website.

Edit: In hindsight, I'm kind of thinking that information would be better posted in a new thread possibly under Windows 7.

Howdy GB folks! I am trying to revive my old Windows 7 Media Center PC. I must admit I perused the GB forum in the past, but never joined :( . Sorry! I got out of the Media Center game when we moved from Chicago to Missouri in 2015. I used to have two PCs running WMC with the commercial skip program when we had AT&T cable and a good OTA antenna in the attic. Now, I only have OTA and not a good antenna. Since Windows retired the EPG, I'm look for an alternative. EPG123? Downloaded it but haven't done anything else with it yet. - Eric

EPG123 is the only alternative. You have to get and annually maintain a subscription to Schedules Direct as well. Follow the instructions on the EPG123 site to install it and everything will go fine. People that have trouble typically didn't follow the instructions correctly.

What, instructions? I thought those things were people who couldn't figure things out on their own. JK - thanks and I will give it a shot!
