First post
Hi all,
Just a quick post to see if any of our members are willing / able to make a small donation to help cover our running costs?
I completely understand that times are hard for a lot of folks and many people are unable to offer any financial support.
Please don't feel pressured into donating...
Last post
Hi, there is no suggested donation amount - any amount is much appreciated
Thank you to everybody that has donated

When I download the files at into a local directory, running make fails. Anybody have any better luck compiling with current kernels? I am running Mythbuntu 16.04.3 LTS (Xenial Xerus) with Mythtv 0.29.
dvr@dvr:~$ cd /home/dvr/Downloads/infinitv_pcie-master/...

I eventually called it a day. Nothing made sense why it wasn't working yet everything seemed like it should. I ended up picking up an HD HomeRun and network running that instead. The passthru and compiling of drivers wasn't worth it after as much time as I researched the little that was out there....

I have been a long time Homerun prime mythtv user, a couple of weeks ago one of my primes went belly up (probably the cat sleeping on it finally took its toll). after poking around on the web i found that ceton infintv 4 was supported in mythtv and found a cheap used one on ebay so i got it....

my kernel version is 4.4.0-116-generic and had no problem compiling once i found the infinitv_pcie-master file. I think I might just have gotten a bad card. i don't always keep up with things and was surprised when i reinstalled in sep of 2016 that mythbuntu was no longer. So i just found an old...

is any one using the usb version? I cant get the usb drivers to configure because ubuntu uses libnl-3 instead of libnl-1

Might be easier to try a different tuner.
But if you have to use that one you might have to go back to libn-1
It is this command any good to you?
apt-get install libnl-dev

Has anyone successfully gotten MythBuntu and the USB tuner going? I've been trying for about a week, and the closest I can get is tuning to a partial lock with TL__

Using InfiniTV 4 USB in Both Linux and Windows

I am getting ready to build a new system, and I want to dual-boot both Windows 8 (shudder) and Mythbuntu as a backup system in case Windows 8 crashes, so that I don't lose the majority of my shows.
I thought I had read somewhere that because of the way Cablecard tuners worked, my tuner would be...

Well, as luck would have it, I gave up on the idea of doing a dual-boot system. The Linux driver supplied by Ceton wouldn't compile, and whatever functionality is built into the kernel at that time is all but useless.

Doing a little poking around and I have not found if anyone has been successful in getting a inifinTV to play nice under any of the BSD's
Has anyone got any links?

Nope , I was looking for Unix like operating system feedback. I currently have the infiniTV 6 working in Linux.
maybe in another 20 years the BSD's will get more advancement in the market place but for now I'll just stick to my resource hungry Linux :(

I know this is a waste of time, but I have to ask somewhere.
Has anybody gotten rtp streaming to work on a Ceton InfiniTV PCIe card? I can get output via mplayer, but cannot get any rtp output even though the web client says it is Playing .
Anybody?

So obviously, my real problem was that I could not watch live TV through MythTV when using the card. Streaming RTP was just a step in the right direction, I hoped.

OK, thanks for the pointer. I read that Comcast usually were liberal with the copy protection flag, so it had perplexed me that it reported CCI 02. Back on the phone to their tech support it sounds like .

What firmware should be used with a Infinitv 4 pcie and Mythtv? I have a card using 1.2.2.6 while the linux driver page says the latest is 1.1.8.2. Usually more is better but I have a card that is, for the lack of a better term, laggy. It rarely responds to the LinHES v8 probe program,...

1.2.2.6 should work fine with Linux. How quickly is your back-end coming up? The card should be ready in well under a minute after power-up.

Yes. everything was done exactly as described on the ceton website. Eventually I was able to stream both video and audio using RTSP. unfortunately it seems that due to incomplete implementation of the client utility, there's no way to stream more than one channel simultaneously from the USB device....
