You could be correct: there are many search results that say to disable HPET for gaming lag and other performance issues. I don't game on my HTPC, so I am really really glad I got it sorted!

Chromium web browsers now feature a persistent warning banner about use on unsupported operating system when launched on Windows 7 and 8.

Cable cards are supposed to be activated/paired with specific tuners. It likely won't work in another tuner. Fail to complete the automatic mapping of lineup stations to tuner

Issue fixed :-). I do not believe that The offending channel was identified. So, I opened the Client and then selected Client Setup and let it do it's thing. I ran WMC Setup again when asked- and BINGO everything fixed in about 20 minutes.
